Wheaton was the only Christian school I applied to. I was originally planning to attend Indiana University. However, there was something about Wheaton I noticed when I visited that was different from other schools. There was a closeness and unity among the students I met that I didn’t see at any of the other schools I visited. Coming from a public high school, I realized that a community of students who shared my faith and ideals was a rare thing. Combined with the fact that Wheaton was academically strong and consistently in the top 10 rankings for food, I was convinced that Wheaton was where God wanted me.

I have never regretted my decision to come to Wheaton. From the beginning, I was living life with many spiritual role models, from my RA on Traber 2 to the senior leaders in American Sign Language club. I was interacting with people who had truly made their faith their own and were living it every day. In addition to other students, many of my professors took the time to get to know me and help me in all sorts of situations and struggles. Wheaton professors truly care about their students. These experiences helped me to grow both as a Christ-follower and a person.

Wheaton is not perfect. No school is. However, I believe that the opportunity to grow at Wheaton is unmatched by any other school. I would not be the person I am today if not for Wheaton.
